negative ions

negative ions are what's in nature that make you feel good, mentally and physically.

they're found in abundance near crashing waves, waterfalls, in the mountains, after a rain storm, etc.

positive ions are found in urban settings, and known to cause mental and physical disturbances.

luckily we can find waves at the edge of new york city, and waterfalls just an hour up state.

i love moonlight almost as much as sunlight

radiolab's show on sleep explained how some animals that don't sleep in shelter only sleep half their brain at a time, kinda like with one eye open. i still wanted to sleep partially outside, so i made a tent out of sheets, shoe string and twigs for stakes. i woke up cuddling a couple spiders, luckily no bites.
